I think that Flint was a more important character because even though he was more of the villain than the hero, he gives us humans strength. This is true because as humans, Flint tried to make harder for us, and because of him, we are able to face the hardships we go through, mostly because of him. In my perspective, Sapling made life easier for us, but without Flint, life wouldn't be what it is today, and it would be too easy. Even though an easier life wouldn't be bad, we need to understand that hardships must be faced and we couldn't depend on people like Sapling to be there for us at every corner. This may lead people to believe that Flint actually put bones in fish and tried to make life more difficult so we could become wiser and learn to face the hardships that is experienced in the world everyday. Although Sapling helped humans, I believe that Sapling thought we wouldn't be able to face hardships and was trying to make life easier. However useful that may seem, Flint is also giving us wisdom, which is why I think Flint is more important.

All though since Sapling really was a more of nature person(nurture versus nature) because he wasn't naturally born as a kind hearted person ; he got the personality from his mother. The same with Flint because he got his heart feelings from his father. I mostly think that Sapling was more important to the birth of the Earth because if all people in the world were like him, we would all face the same prospective and adversity. Some people like Flint teach us in the world that evil is sometimes better than the good because there are many things that we have to face during life though its sometimes part of religion. We need the world to be tough too because you never know that if something bad happened then it would be so difficult for us to solve it. We need to be prepared for the hard things in our life. Maybe Sapling wouldn't be prepared for the bad that might happen to him if he is trying to make the world perfect. If anything happened to him then he wouldn't be able to protect himself. So one day he was into evil he killed his brother and then he realized what he did and he didn't know what to do.Like with the hole. He saw a bird burying a dead bird, s he did the same. Another connection is that in spongeob, spongebob found a pencil and drew himself. It came to life, but the brain was evil unlike spongebob. They defeated it by erasing it.
I think that Flint was WAY by far more important. This is because he taught us about discipline. Discipline is important and without it you could not be successful in life. Also without hardships such as snow we would die of warmness. Winter is cold and if summer was all day long and life would be hot people would die of heartburn. Also he gave us bones and without those I would not be typing and just this chunk of meat which can't move. It is just that Flint's intention was bad, not his actions.

I know that we all are debating over who is actually better: Flint or Sapling but shouldn't we even try to realize that both of them are important because Flint has helped all of us realize that discipline is important but I guess we also have to realize that Sapling has helped us learn to be kind to others and to always be nice and that when you are nice to somebody, they will also be nice to you.

Lamiya, if Flint wasn't born, there would not have been animals in earth, and if there were no animals, then just imagine the world how it would be now. There would be so many dead people now, because thee would not be any animals living, and without animals, there would not be food or (now going to science) there wont be so much decomposers, and no decomposers means no photo synthesis and then there wont be any oxygen for people to breath. Life would be horrible if flint was not born.
